Manning announced 11 new containment measures, under which the country's international borders remained closed unless by special exemption, and strict conditions were placed on domestic air travel.

China has valued peace and cooperation since ancient times, and always opposes dangerous acts to divide the world along ideological lines, said Wang.
"Their allegations are fanfare for ideological confrontation and the Cold War mentality," Yang said. "They are nothing short of discredit to the enormous efforts and contributions made throughout past decades by people across the two societies to promote the development of China-U.S. relations."
Wang expounded on the clear-cut framework for the relationship.
Given profound changes in the world, it is a shared responsibility for all countries to maintain peace and promote development. Developing China-U.S. relations based on coordination, cooperation and stability is vital to the world.
Zhang said China is seriously concerned about the current situation in Kashmir and the relevant military actions. China opposes unilateral actions that will complicate the situation, and calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint and act prudently. In particular, they should refrain from taking actions that will escalate tensions, according to the spokesperson.
In the interview, Wang refuted a series of recent U.S. moves hurting bilateral ties, including U.S. closing the Chinese Consulate-General in Houston, launching global campaign against Chinese companies, making fierce attacks on the Communist Party of China and interfering into China's internal affairs.
The anti-China forces in the United States have groundlessly smeared the national security legislation for Hong Kong and introduced the so-called U.S. sanctions targeting officials of the central government agencies responsible for Hong Kong affairs and the HKSAR government. It exposed the hegemonic nature of these anti-China forces in the United States.
However, the U.S. government is sticking to the wrong path. By wantonly breaching the privacy of government officials targeted by the "sanctions," the United States has gone against its own stance on democracy, freedom and respect for human rights.
