Timoci Balenaivalu, acting principal archivist of the National Archives of Fiji, said archives is the records of a country's history, and countries like Fiji and China can learn from history and culture to better their future cooperation.
"I believe there are sectors in the United States that are very concerned about China's growth and competitiveness in various fields," said the diplomat.
During an exclusive interview with Xinhua, Wang said the United States has launched a global campaign against a private Chinese company without any solid evidence, calling the move a textbook example of bullying.
"I have been to China three times. China has a rich history and culture just as what Fiji does. Cultural exchange like today's visit will help us know better each other. Needless to say, we need to respect each other's history and culture and this will help us enjoy good relationship and cooperation," he said.
Zhao said the comments came as no surprise, "because we know certain individuals in the United States have their own 'definition' of truth: as long as a lie serves to attack and smear China, it is a fact."
