Though impacted by the novel coronavirus in Egypt, Beshr and his colleagues have been proceeding with their work. At the end of June, Beshr's team successfully signed a bonded warehouse lease agreement with a Chinese textile company.
"China and Ecuador are in friendly communication these days through bilateral channels," Wang said, adding that on Thursday, the fishery authorities of the two countries held a special video teleconference, which led to positive consensus and good results.
"A new Cold War between the United States and China would be something else entirely. It is difficult to see how it could be fought effectively, not to mention successfully," Coats said.
Only by taking quick action with great determination can one turn things around in times of difficulty, the 30-year-old Egyptian said.
The U.S. side should face reality, be rational, put China-U.S. relations in perspective and handle the relations correctly. Or it will surely face consequences if it refuses to correct its course and insists on taking more wrong steps.
"We are two different countries, but we have to work together. We have to understand we are living in the same world. We are living in this small global village," Cui said. The best way to avoid a growing conflict between the United States and China is through collaboration, not zero-sum competition, according to Rachel Esplin Odell, an international security fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School.
As part of that strategy, the White House has adopted a more antagonistic attitude towards China and interfered in China's domestic affairs, including Hong Kong.
Amid the impact of COVID-19, trade between China and some Arab countries still registered growth.
"China-U.S. cooperation has never been a case of one party giving favor to the other, or one party taking advantage of the other. Both countries have benefited much from this cooperation," he stressed.
Wang also noted that many international polls in recent years show that at least 90 percent of the Chinese people trust their government.
