BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to make cool-headed and sensible response to the impulsive moves and anxiety of the U.S. side, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
The development of China and of the United States is not a zero sum game, and the two countries should not reject each other but draw on each other's strength to achieve common development, according to Wang.
Malaysia, he added, fully agrees with China to actively carry out vaccine cooperation, establish a "fast lane" and a "green lane" at an early date, explore ways to jointly ensure supply chain security and send a positive signal of unity and cooperation between the two countries.

"We urge the United States to stop acting with arrogance and prejudice, but enter into constructive dialogue with us on an equal footing," Wang said.
With COVID-19 still raging across the world, China is prepared to have mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States on epidemic control and economic recovery, learn from each other and share experience on containing COVID-19, and join together with the United States the global response and multilateral cooperation in fighting COVID-19, he said.

He recalled that leaders and statesmen of the elder generation in China and the United States acted in the fundamental interests of the two peoples and made the political decision of historic significance with their exceptional strategic vision and political courage to rise above the differences in ideology and social systems.
The move is nothing but a hysterical outburst of hegemonism after these U.S. politicians failed in their attempts to manipulate Hong Kong affairs, the spokesperson said on Sunday.
